Louisiana Elementary Math & Coding Olympiad
Elementary school students from across Louisiana are invited to compete in the Louisiana Elementary Math & Coding Olympiad on Saturday, February 22, 2025. The event will take place in person at Kenilworth Science and Technology Academy, located at 8716 Siegen Ln, Baton Rouge, LA 70810.
This exciting competition, hosted by Kenilworth Science and Technology Academy, will feature a rigorous math test tailored specifically for 5th-grade students. Kenilworth's goal is to offer a challenging yet engaging experience that fosters both competition and learning. All interested 5th graders are welcome to participate.
In addition to the math test, students have the option to join a separate coding competition. The coding questions will be drawn from the Code.org Computer Science Fundamentals curriculum. Full details can be found under the "Study" tab.
Participants: Open to all 5th-grade students in Louisiana
Math Test: The test will include multiple-choice questions aligned with the Louisiana Student Standards, with additional high-level questions to break ties.
Coding Test: Based on Code.org Computer Science Fundamentals Courses E-F and Course 4, covering both block and text-based coding.

*Students can only win one prize. If a student places in both the math and coding competitions, they will choose which prize they prefer.
**Prizes are subject to change based on availability at the time of the contest. If a listed prize is unavailable, an equivalent prize of similar value will be offered.
Full Schedule
10:00 AM - 10:30 AM: Arrival and sign-in for coding students
10:30 AM - 11:15 AM: Coding test
11:00 AM - 11:30 AM: Arrival for math-only students; break and snack for coding students
11:30 AM - 12:30 PM: Math testing
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM: Lunch, activities and test grading
1:30 PM - 1:45 PM: Award ceremony
Parents, Guardians, Siblings, and Teachers
While students are taking the test, there will be trainings, workshops, and activities for parents, guardians, siblings, and teachers. It will be a fun and engaging day filled with math and computer science!
